About the Event
Honor your losses and heal with us this Day of the Dead, off the beaten path in Michoacán, México. This location in central Mexico is known for the indigenous Purépecha influence, as well as the stunning natural beauty where mountains and jungles meet. This location offers an opportunity to experience authentic Mexican culture and cuisine in a location where tourism is relatively new.
We all carry losses - whether it be the loss of a loved one in our lives, a future we imagined, or parts of ourselves. This retreat provides an opportunity to honor our grief, the importance of who/what we mourn, and engage practices to transform our pain and heal.
The Michoacán region is also known for its unique Day of the Day celebrations, rooted in the Purépecha culture. During our time together, we will be visiting several of these communities, including island villages in Lake Pátzcuaro, to witness how they honor their ancestors.
Sink into your healing and let us take care of the rest. Experience authentic home cooked meals, elements centered yoga and meditation practices, healing arts activities, community altar creation, and local cultural excursions curated by a Mexican-American Historian and Educator and an Indian-American Psychologist and Yogi. Quinta Magnolia has 5 apartments located in an incredible riverside space, surrounded by nature, art, and sculptures.Only 2 blocks from the main avenue and 15 minutes from downtown. A quiet, relaxing, comfortable place with an excellent wi-fi signal (although you will take the opportunity to relax offline). With many areas to enjoy the outdoors.

Cancellation Policy
All initial deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. If canceling 60 days or more before the event begins, 50% is non-refundable and the remaining 50% is transferable to a future Luna Bodhi retreat. Cancellations made within 60 days or less of arrival are 100% non refundable.
